The Turkey and The Eagle

Tristan and Aidan's 3rd grade play was all about how the eagle became the national bird instead of the turkey. It was really good and they sang really cute songs. Aidan and Tristan had a couple of lines and did a good job. At the end brother turkey and brother eagle shook hands and Aidan and Tristan got to do that it was funny. It even got Sully's attention he watched the whole thing!

More Halloween!

Aaron, Jordan and Brena got really into making pumpkins this year. One is Mario, the other Boo and the last one is a run of the mill Jack o lantern. Here are some pics of the kids trick or treating with Toad and Toadette (Jordan and Brenalee). Everyone said this Halloween was THE BEST!
The last pics are last Wednesday when it snowed a little bit. The big kids were at school and we decided to try to play outside. We didn't last but a few minutes. Sully tried to pick up some snow and decided he didn't like it. He started to scream because it made his hands too cold. He is not going to be a fan of winter in Loa.

Halloween with the Shaws

The Shaws had a Nintendo Halloween. Aidan and Tristan were Mario and Luigi, Landan and Sully were Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. Delaney was Princess Peach and Finley was a pig which didn't go with the theme so Aaron and I went as pig farmers. More pics to come.

More Black Canyon AND CHIPMUNKS!

The Black Canyon was beautiful and we had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We stopped for lunch in the Black Canyon and these chipmunks would not leave us ...or our lunch alone. The kids tried to get them to sing but alas Alvin was not among these chipmunks.

Mesa Verde National Park

Our first stop on our trip around southwest Colorado was Cortez, CO home of Mesa Verde National Park. It was beautiful and awe inspiring to imagine the people who built these houses inside of cliffs so long ago.

Aaron's 34!

Aaron celebrated his 34th Bday September 12th with London Broil (his Mom's fab recipe) and his favorite chocolate pie. It was the fastest I have ever seen a pie go. Next year I will need to make 2 pies!

Changes for the Shaws....

Well we went for a walk Sunday and the kids wanted to take pics of some of the things they would miss about Loa. I posted a few of them. We found out last week that Aaron is getting a new job and when we sell our house we will be moving. We are nervous and excited about our new adventure but there will be a lot of people and places and I guess farm animals we will miss....

Capitol Reef part2

We had alot of fun eating pears and apples in the orchards, getting way too close to deer and enjoying ice cream at the Gifford House. It was a beautiful day and a perfect end to summer and beginning to fall.
