More Halloween!

Aaron, Jordan and Brena got really into making pumpkins this year. One is Mario, the other Boo and the last one is a run of the mill Jack o lantern. Here are some pics of the kids trick or treating with Toad and Toadette (Jordan and Brenalee). Everyone said this Halloween was THE BEST!
The last pics are last Wednesday when it snowed a little bit. The big kids were at school and we decided to try to play outside. We didn't last but a few minutes. Sully tried to pick up some snow and decided he didn't like it. He started to scream because it made his hands too cold. He is not going to be a fan of winter in Loa.

Halloween with the Shaws

The Shaws had a Nintendo Halloween. Aidan and Tristan were Mario and Luigi, Landan and Sully were Baby Mario and Baby Luigi. Delaney was Princess Peach and Finley was a pig which didn't go with the theme so Aaron and I went as pig farmers. More pics to come.

Finley finally started preschool last week and she is super excited about it. Of course she wanted her pic taken by the farm wall by the piggies!

Soccer!

The boys finished another season of soccer and they are getting really good! And Mom likes it after soccer when they are really tired and momentarily quiet!

More Black Canyon AND CHIPMUNKS!

The Black Canyon was beautiful and we had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa. We stopped for lunch in the Black Canyon and these chipmunks would not leave us ...or our lunch alone. The kids tried to get them to sing but alas Alvin was not among these chipmunks.

Mesa Verde National Park

Our first stop on our trip around southwest Colorado was Cortez, CO home of Mesa Verde National Park. It was beautiful and awe inspiring to imagine the people who built these houses inside of cliffs so long ago.

Finley is 5!

Fin turned 5 on October 4th and we had yet another pig birthday party. This time I tried more of a farm theme. We had a great time and she got lots of ...yes you guessed it pigs!

Aaron's 34!

Aaron celebrated his 34th Bday September 12th with London Broil (his Mom's fab recipe) and his favorite chocolate pie. It was the fastest I have ever seen a pie go. Next year I will need to make 2 pies!

Changes for the Shaws....

Well we went for a walk Sunday and the kids wanted to take pics of some of the things they would miss about Loa. I posted a few of them. We found out last week that Aaron is getting a new job and when we sell our house we will be moving. We are nervous and excited about our new adventure but there will be a lot of people and places and I guess farm animals we will miss....

Capitol Reef part2

We had alot of fun eating pears and apples in the orchards, getting way too close to deer and enjoying ice cream at the Gifford House. It was a beautiful day and a perfect end to summer and beginning to fall.

First Day of School!

It was a whirlwind of a morning but we got the big kids off to school today. We will see how it goes but they were very excited this morning. The little ones are sad but we are having a movie morning and enjoying Fox and the Hound currently to try to take their mind off things.

My Bday!

We went with Brena and Jordan on a hike to Calf Creek Falls to celebrate my birthday. Brena even made me a cake. We are going to miss them a ton when they leave us in Dec. The hike involved some whining at times but 5 miles was their longest yet. They all felt very accomplished once we got there though because it was beautiful! Though the way back the 3 little ones were all carried thanks to Jordan Brena & Aaron cause I couldn't have done it!

Sully turned 1!

Sully is hilarious, adorable and the sweetest guy on earth. His "snuggle pats" are famous the world over and we don't know what we would do with out him. He had a great Bday we celebrated it in FL with all the family and haven't tracked down who has got photos of it yet. Anyways I thought these were all cute. Delaney does a good job of taking funny pics of him because I never think of it!

Baby Shirley got blessed!

So we went to old Shirley's house to bless new Shirley! It was crazy but everybody was there in Nan's tiny house which seemed much tinier that day!

All dressed up for Jenna's sealing at the temple!

Made it to FL!

So we made it to FL and into Grandma and Grandpa's pool which they rarely left! They had so much fun (well all except for our trip to the doctor for Fin. She now has a hole in her ear again!) We visited all our usual haunts... ZOO, Aquarium and La Septima.

Next stop ATL!

I took the big kids to Stone Mountain for the laser light show! We had a blast and Aunt Nenna came too! (Grammy had the little boys for the night) It was fun to be back in Ga. I hadn't been back in 5 years so it was neat to see all that had changed but mostly Papa chilled with the boys and us girls did a lot of school shopping!

Next stop Kentucky cousins!

Well here is Papa and all the Shaw and Alford cousins. Papa was already getting sick with a bad cold at this point but was still a trooper who refused to ever let me drive (he doesn't like me checking out my ipod more than the road). We didn't get to stay long but long enough to decide that Landan and Luke were kindred spirits who would die happy as long as they had a Wii remote in one hand and Lego Star Wars on the screen! Landan told Luke he was his best friend and it was a very sad parting! We did get to play at a water park and stay up late watching movies on the big screen in Uncle Jamie's basement! They had a lot of fun and they decided for the 100th time during the trip it stinks to live so far away from everybody.

I'm finally blogging again!

First up this summer was our crazy trip across country! The first stop was Arkansas and the Messicks! We had a blast playing outside and eating from Uncle Nate's garden (before it was ravaged by deer). We went on a safari that included pigs (Fin was very happy!) and a baby monkey that Landan wanted so bad he even agreed to changing his diapers if only I would let him have him. Most importantly we got to meet the new Shirley in the family!
